Ancient America
Ancient America is a peer-reviewed monograph series dedicated to the publication of original papers on the art and iconography of ancient Native American cultures of the Western hemisphere, thus including North America, Mesoamerica, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. Ancient America is published by the Center for Ancient American Studies on an irregular basis.
The Center for Ancient American Studies (CAAS) is a not-for-profit educational organization presently being organized (1) to promote research in the Americas before the coming of the Europeans in the fields of anthropology art history, including archaeology, epigraphy, ethnohistory, ethnology, and linguistics; (2) to publish educational materials and research findings; and (3) to conduct small-scale research projects related to these purposes. The Center for Ancient American Studies publishes Ancient America, a peer-reviewed monograph series dedicated to the publication of original papers on the art and iconography of ancient Native American cultures of the Western hemisphere, thus including North America, Mesoamerica, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.
